This is a decent mono copy of the second US Beatles release on Capitol records. The jacket is a solid VG (probably even VG+) from the front, but the writing on the back and the almost-split on the top edge makes it VG-...same thing with the vinyl: except for a couple of marks on both sides, it would be VG or perhaps VG+. This is a first issue label (no running times on tracks 1 & 2 on side 2), and the smaller (just under 1" diameter) inner ring around spindle hole indicates it is the rare, earlier Decca pressing (according to Fab4Collectibles.com). This copy includes a blue Capitol sleeve.
Matrix / Runout (etched in Side A): T 1 2080 J 20 D
Matrix / Runout (etched in Side B): T 2 2080 F 21 DBook value for a NM copy of this version of this release is between $800-900:
CAPITOL (T-2080 "The Beatles' Second Album").......................................800-900 (1964)
(Monaural.)
(from the Rockin' Records 2018-2019 Record Price Guide)
...and so that places the value of a VG- copy at around $125 or so. A solid VG+ copy of this version of this record—which this one almost is—would be worth $400-450.The pictures below are of the actual record for sale; click on one of the gray dots below the three smaller pictures to bring up the slideshow of all 16 pictures of this record.
